Publisher, Wife Found In Contempt Over $1.4M Payment

Law360, New York (October 26, 2009, 5:33 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has found a prominent Manhattan couple in contempt of court because for years they allegedly flouted an order that required them to fork over a $1.4 million payment on a promissory note.

On Friday, Judge Denise Cote of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York found publishing magnate Donald Kummerfeld and his wife Elizabeth in contempt of court, granting Cordius Trust some of the relief requested in its longstanding battle with the duo.
