Schwab Investors To Amend Securities Fraud Complaint

Law360, New York (October 26, 2009, 2:48 PM EDT) -- A judge has given leave in part to a group of Charles Schwab Corp. investors to amend a class action complaint accusing the bank and several affiliates of committing securities violations by misrepresenting the risk profile of Schwab’s YieldPlus Fund and by improperly changing the fund’s investment policies.

On Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Judge William Alsup granted the investors’ requests to amend the complaint to conform to evidence allegedly uncovered during discovery, conform to the class certification order...
