Conn. AG Targets Jailed Trash Czar Over Bid-Rigging

Law360, New York (October 27, 2009, 4:53 PM EDT) -- The state of Connecticut on Tuesday smacked jailed garbage-hauling honcho James Galante with an antitrust suit looking to recover millions of dollars for customers who lost out when he allegedly inflated prices and rigged bids for trash-hauling contracts.

Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal filed the lawsuit, naming Galante as the sole defendant, in Hartford Superior Court, the attorney general's office said.
