Chevron, Exxon Want 5th Circ. Coastal Drilling Ruling Reheard

Law360 (September 9, 2020, 7:52 PM EDT) -- Chevron Corp., ExxonMobil Corp. and other energy companies have asked the Fifth Circuit to reconsider its decision to keep lawsuits alleging they unlawfully drilled along Louisiana's coast for decades in state court, saying the court inappropriately determined their removal request came too late.

In two separate petitions for review on Tuesday, the companies asked for a second look from the panel or en banc review that would take into consideration that some of the work was done at the federal government's behest.
