Lehman Asks To Restructure Real Estate Loan Terms

Law360, New York (October 29, 2009, 6:08 PM EDT) -- The collapse of the nation’s housing market hasn’t done much good for Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., which is asking a federal bankruptcy court to sign off on a bid to restructure the loan terms on its faltering real estate portfolio.

In a motion filed Wednesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, Lehman said that many of its real estate investments “are not performing, in large measure, due to the prevailing economic conditions.”
