Indonesia, Vietnam Dumping Plastic Bags: ITA

Law360, New York (October 30, 2009, 2:14 PM EDT) -- Indonesian and Vietnamese companies have been selling plastic shopping bags in the U.S. market for less than normal value, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced.

The companies have been dumping polyethylene retail carrier bags, according to the preliminary determinations of anti-dumping duty investigations on the imports announced Wednesday.

The Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration began investigating plastic bag imports from the Southeast Asian countries based on petitions by South Carolina-based Hilex Poly Co. LLC and Texas-based Superbag Corp.
