Houston Firm Wants 'Huckster' Deepwater Suit Tossed

Law360 (October 2, 2020, 10:47 PM EDT) -- A Houston personal injury firm says a former client is pursuing obviously false claims that they fumbled his $2.2 million Deepwater Horizon lawsuit and that the man is a "huckster" who should be sanctioned.

In a countersuit against former client Mark Canfora and his attorneys, firm Brent Coon & Associates and certain individuals said Canfora's malpractice allegations are false. As soon as scrutiny is applied to Canfora, his history of shady business deals, pattern of litigious behavior and the underlying legal matter, the allegations quickly are shown to be meritless, the firm argued on Tuesday.
