Chinese Drywall Plaintiffs Seek National Class Status

Law360, New York (October 30, 2009, 6:20 PM EDT) -- The plaintiffs in the massive Chinese-made drywall product liability litigation, whose class definition was formerly limited to Virginia, have asked the court for leave to amend their complaint to assert nationwide class claims against Taishan Gypsum Co. Ltd.

The new class definition would cover all persons and entities in the U.S. with properties impacted by defective drywall manufactured and distributed by Taishan, according to the plaintiffs' motion Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
