MP3tunes Founder Appeals Inclusion In Copyright Spat

Law360, New York (November 2, 2009, 2:09 PM EST) -- The CEO of “music locker” service MP3tunes.com has appealed a court decision allowing roughly two dozen EMI Group Ltd. labels to sue him for the company's alleged copyright infringement.

Robertson filed a motion for reconsideration or alternately certification for interlocutory appeal on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Robertson, whose MP3.com also became a music industry target, faces a potential $50 billion civil liability for his role in MP3tunes' alleged infringement, according to his motion.
