CORRECTED: Judge Gives Early OK To Door Price-Fix Deals Worth $75M
Law360 (October 8, 2020, 7:35 PM EDT) -- A Virginia federal judge agreed Thursday to give a tentative green light to a pair of settlements worth $75 million that would resolve class actions alleging doormakers Jeld-Wen and Masonite conspired to hike their prices.
U.S. District Judge John A. Gibney Jr. told the parties he would give preliminary approval to the deals, which seek to put to rest the claims of two sets of door buyers, direct purchasers such as lumber yards and building materials retailers and indirect buyers that bought doors from retail outlets.
