Law360, New York (November 3, 2009, 3:49 PM EST) -- Consumers have hit Target Corp., CVS Caremark Corp., Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and several others with a putative class action alleging that the companies made misleading claims about the effectiveness of weight-loss product Relacore or sold the product knowing it was "worthless."
Three named plaintiffs filed the complaint Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, saying they want to snuff out false advertising about the efficacy of Relacore, Relacore Extra and Relacore PM.
