Workers' Rights Lawyers Urge Senate To Reject Judge Barrett

Law360 (October 15, 2020, 8:15 PM EDT) -- The National Employment Lawyers Association urged senators to reject Judge Amy Coney Barrett's nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court, accusing the appeals court judge of "narrowly" interpreting civil rights laws and routinely siding with companies over workers.

In a letter sent to the top Republican and top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, NELA cast Judge Barrett as a threat to workers' rights and said a review of nearly 100 employment cases she heard while on the Seventh Circuit revealed a "particularly troubling" record on racial discrimination issues.
