Court Gives Final OK To $85M Wal-Mart Settlement

Law360, New York (November 3, 2009, 8:15 PM EST) -- A federal judge has given final approval to a settlement Wal-Mart Stores Inc. reached late last year, with the retail giant agreeing to pay up to $85 million to put to rest class actions alleging wage-and-hour violations.

The settlement, which Judge Philip M. Pro of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada approved Monday, is one piece of a broader settlement Wal-Mart agreed to in December.
