RadioShack Breached Franchise Agreement: Judge

Law360, New York (November 4, 2009, 1:29 PM EST) -- A district judge has ruled that electronics retailer RadioShack Corp. breached its franchise agreement with several franchisees when it failed to sell them certain merchandise at a 20 percent discount when RadioShack had a sale at its company-run stores.

Judge Jeffrey Miller of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California granted the franchisees summary judgment on that breach of contract claim on Monday, though he dismissed several other breach of contract and tort claims the franchisees levied at RadioShack.
