State Farm, Ford Settle Faulty Cruise Control Claims

Law360, New York (November 9, 2009, 12:41 PM EST) -- State Farm Fire & Casualty Co. has become the latest plaintiff to settle its claims with Ford Motor Co. in multidistrict litigation accusing the automaker of knowingly installing a faulty cruise control switch that eventually led to millions of vehicle recalls.

Judge Bernard A. Friedman of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan on Friday dismissed with prejudice State Farm's claims related to an alleged fire caused by the defective switch “due to settlement of this action, and good cause appearing therefore.”...
