Ex-Jones Day Atty Faces Appeal Over Ocado Contempt Fight

Law360, London (January 13, 2021, 7:52 PM GMT) -- Ocado urged an appeals court Wednesday to let it pursue committal proceedings against an ex-Jones Day lawyer it says had proof of corporate espionage destroyed, saying it was in the public interest to strictly enforce rules about preserving evidence.

Ocado's attorney, David Cavender QC of One Essex Court, said the judge lost sight of the greater public concern, which is to ensure that orders of the court are adhered to, when he refused to allow the online grocery retailer to forge ahead with its contempt application against former Jones Day partner Raymond McKeeve.
