Exxon $17.5M MTBE Settlement Wins Court Approval

Law360, New York (November 17, 2009, 1:14 PM EST) -- A judge has signed off on the $17.5 million settlement proposed by Exxon Mobil Corp. to resolve 50 cases consolidated in the ongoing multidistrict litigation concerning the gasoline additive methyl tertiary-butyl ether.

Judge Shira A. Scheindlin approved the settlement Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, calling the agreement a ‚Äúcomprehensive resolution‚ÄĚ of the claims between Exxon and the plaintiffs.
