Judge Sides With Cybersettle In Patent Dispute

Law360, New York (November 13, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- An online dispute resolution company declared victory Monday after a federal judge decided that a rival was infringing on its patent for an online dispute resolution system capable of multiple rounds of bidding.

New York-based Cybersettle filed the suit asking National Arbitration Forum (NAF) to stop infringing on its patent in September 2004. NAF filed counterclaims against Cybersettle, saying the company’s patent was invalid and unenforceable, and that it wasn’t infringing.
