Peloton Attack On 'Spinning' TM Is 'Meritless,' Owner Says

Law360 (February 23, 2021, 11:46 AM EST) -- Peloton's legal battle to free "spin" and "spinning" from trademark control is "meritless" and certain to fail, according to a statement issued Tuesday by the company that owns trademark registrations to the terms.

A week after Peloton accused Mad Dogg Athletics of "abusively" seeking to maintain control over terms that had become generic, the rival fitness company said it would eventually prove it had valid trademark rights to the words.
