Citgo Accused of Price-Fixing With OPEC

Law360, New York (November 15, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Citgo Petroleum Corp. has been handed an antitrust lawsuit alleging that it is a willing participant in a price-fixing cartel as part of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.

The suit, filed by plaintiffs who purchase gas, asphalt, lubricants, petrochemicals and motor oil directly from Citgo throughout the United States, alleges that "Venezuela and the OPEC conspiracy, using Citgo as a tool of its unlawful scheme, have thus entered United States territory for the purpose and with the effect of bringing to fruition their unlawful scheme...
