Navy, Hospital Workers Settle Nighttime Pay Claims

Law360, New York (November 30, 2009, 5:06 PM EST) -- A federal judge has preliminarily approved a settlement resolving claims that the U.S. Navy failed to pay hundreds of civilian hospital workers properly for nighttime hours that figured into their paid time off.

U.S. Court of Federal Claims Judge Francis M. Allegra said in a Nov. 24 ruling that the proposed $58,354.24 settlement for the 354 opt-in class members satisfied the preliminary fairness requirements and was ready for a final hearing.
