Class Cert. Sought In ConocoPhillips Bonus Dispute

Law360, New York (December 2, 2009, 1:56 PM EST) -- The plaintiff in a putative class action against ConocoPhillips Co. is seeking to certify the suit, which alleges the energy giant breached a contract to pay employees of Burlington Resources Inc. post-merger bonuses for staying at their jobs after ConocoPhillips acquired the company.

James P. Erlandson filed the motion to certify the class on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinios, saying the proposed class totals 162 former Burlington employees.
