Analog Fires Own Shots In Microphone Patent Fight

Law360, New York (December 2, 2009, 6:16 PM EST) -- Facing a complaint before the U.S. International Trade Commission, semiconductor company Analog Devices Inc. has filed its own allegations before the commission, claiming Knowles Electronics LLC has imported microphones that violate Analog patents.

The complaint, filed Monday, claims that an Analog employee came across the infringing microphones in a Nokia 3600 cell phone. The markings on the microphones indicated that they were made, at least partially, in China.

Knowles filed its own complaint on similar charges in the ITC on Nov. 12.
