TouchTunes and Ecast Settle Patent Disputes

Law360, New York (April 29, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two providers of digital jukeboxes have settled their patent infringement lawsuits and agreed to cross-license their technologies.

TouchTunes Music Corporation and Ecast, Inc. said they would cross-license TouchTunes' U.S. Patent No. 6,308,204 and Ecast's U.S. Patent No. 5,341,350, which it licenses from NSM Music Group Limited. Both patents had been the subject of pending lawsuits.

Both companies make jukeboxes that take coins or credit cards to play music from an internal hard drive or over an internet connection, giving customers the choice between thousands of songs....
