5th Circ. Turns Volume Down On Royalty Suit V. Sony

Law360, New York (December 9, 2009, 4:41 PM EST) -- A federal appeals court has affirmed the dismissal of nearly all copyright infringement and breach of contract claims brought against Sony BMG Music Entertainment Inc. and rapper Lil’ Flip by a music producer who accuses the record company of withholding royalty payments and using his songs without permission on two albums.
