Chicago Title Customers' Class Cert. Bid Denied

Law360, New York (December 13, 2009, 9:27 AM EST) -- A Texas court has denied class certification to customers of Chicago Title Insurance Co. who alleged that the insurer failed to apply mandatory discounts to title insurance premiums required by Texas law.

Judge Sidney Fitzwater of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas denied the plaintiffs’ bid for certification on Wednesday, finding that the proposed class failed to meet federal predominance standards.
