Southwest Eyes Delta, US Airways Assets

Law360 (November 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The proposed $8 billion takeover of bankrupt Delta Airlines Inc. by US Airways has rival carriers eyeing the prospect of purchasing some of Delta’s assets, which may be put on the auction block in order to appease antitrust regulators.

Southwest Airlines has expressed interest in purchasing assets that the carriers may put up for sale in order to eliminate antitrust concerns raised by the merger.
