Device Maker Asserts Wafer Patents Against Rivals

Law360 (November 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- A manufacturer of wafer probe cards has forged ahead with a patent infringement lawsuit against an Austin, Texas-based semiconductor measuring device maker and its Japanese unit over advanced wafer technology.

FormFactor Inc. lodged the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Friday, alleging that MJC Electronics Corp. and subsidiary Micronics Japan Co. Ltd. infringed four patents covering key parts of its wafer cards. Semiconductor makers use the cards to electronically test integrated circuits.
