ITC Launches 337 Probe Into Analog's Microphones

Law360, New York (December 18, 2009, 4:22 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has elected to initiate an investigation into acoustic component maker Knowles Electronics LLC's accusations that semiconductor company Analog Devices Inc. has imported silicon microphone packages that infringe two patents.

The ITC announced Thursday that it had decided to pursue Knowles' Nov. 12 complaint alleging that Norwood, Mass.-based Analog violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by importing its iMEMS microphones used in Apple Inc.'s iPod Nano and other consumer electronics that infringe claims of U.S. Patent Numbers 6,781,231 and...
