Senate Panel Passes Bill To Tighten Rail Oversight

Law360, New York (December 18, 2009, 1:54 PM EST) -- A U.S. Senate committee has advanced legislation sponsored by Sen. John D. Rockefeller, D-W.Va., that would increase competitive scrutiny of railroad rates and mergers, strengthen federal oversight of the rail industry and give shippers greater access to regulatory relief for rate complaints.
