OFAC Asked To Give Export License To Iran For E-mail

Law360, New York (December 21, 2009, 1:04 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of State has recommended that the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control issue a general license that would authorize downloads of free communications software in Iran, saying current sanctions are having an “unintended chilling effect” on the flow of information among Iranian citizens.
