5th Circ. Lets Ford Off Hook On Marathon Contracts

Law360, New York (December 22, 2009, 5:09 PM EST) -- A federal appeals court has upheld Ford Motor Co.'s win against a vehicle service insurer that sued the automobile kingpin for tortious interference after Ford stopped financing purchases of its contracts because of the insurer's low stability rating.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on Friday affirmed the verdict and tossed Marathon Financial Insurance Co. Inc.'s bids on appeal to amend its complaint and reopen discovery.
