Credit-Card Holders Seek Cert. In HSBC Late Fee Spat

Law360, New York (December 23, 2009, 3:35 PM EST) -- HSBC Bank USA NA customers alleging that the bank charged late fees to those who made their payments on time via first-class mail, despite its promise to register payments based on receipt date, have moved for class certification.

The plaintiffs, all former or current HSBC credit-card holders, filed a motion for class certification Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
