Justices Wary Of Baby Bell Arguments In Antitrust Case

Law360, New York (November 28, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Although the telecommunications companies that have appealed a class action suit all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court have argued adamantly that the law is on their side, several justices seem skeptical of their claims.

The Court heard opening arguments in landmark Bell Atlantic Co. v. Twombly case on Monday, with attorneys for the phone companies attempting to convince the justices that a district court was correct in dismissing a class action antitrust suit filed against them.
