4th Circ. Upholds Dismissal Of KBR False Claims Suit

Law360, New York (January 6, 2010, 7:03 PM EST) -- A federal appeals court has upheld the dismissal of a False Claims Act lawsuit against KBR Inc. brought by a former worker who said the construction company knowingly paid inflated invoices to subcontractors in Iraq and overbilled the government.

The ruling in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit on Wednesday affirmed the dismissal of the suit brought by relator Barrington Godfrey, a former KBR contract administrator, for failure to state a claim.
