Georgia-Pacific Hammered In Wood Trim Warranty Suit

Law360, New York (January 7, 2010, 4:21 PM EST) -- Building products and paper company Georgia-Pacific Corp. has lost its bid in a North Carolina state appeals court to force a suit over a defective wood trim product with a limited warranty into arbitration.

The three-judge panel of the North Carolina Court of Appeals on Tuesday rejected Georgia-Pacific's argument that a limited warranty for PrimeTrim, which was installed around windows and doors in a North Carolina subdivision, required the dispute to be dealt with in arbitration.
