ERISA Class Action Against Cigna Remains In Mass.

Law360, New York (January 7, 2010, 4:11 PM EST) -- A federal judge has denied a motion by two Cigna Corp. units to transfer out of Massachusetts a putative class action accusing the insurer of failing to pay death benefits.

Judge Richard Stearns of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts on Wednesday denied a motion by the Life Insurance Co. of North America and the Connecticut General Life Insurance Co. to transfer the case to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
