Amazon, Motorola, Verizon Exit Music ID Patent Suit

Law360, New York (January 13, 2010, 1:53 PM EST) -- Amazon Inc., Motorola Inc. and Verizon Wireless have exited an infringement suit brought by Texas-based Tune Hunter Inc., the assignee of a patent covering a system that identifies music using cell phones and other electronic devices.

Judge T. John Ward of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas approved three joint stipulations dismissing the companies without prejudice on Tuesday. The dismissals come a week after Shazam Entertainment Ltd. became the first defendant to exit the suit.
