AGs Slam Health Care Bill's 'Cornhusker Kickback'

Law360, New York (January 14, 2010, 3:38 PM EST) -- Thirteen attorneys general, led by Henry McMaster of South Carolina, have threatened legal action to block a provision of the pending health care reform bill that calls for the federal government to bear the cost of new Medicaid enrollees from Nebraska.

The attorneys general sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., in late December, outlining their objections to the deal, which was reportedly added to bill to lure a crucial vote by Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb....
