Law360, New York (January 19, 2010, 3:12 PM EST) -- Staffing companies SMX Inc. and Seaton Corp. and operator Newell Rubbermaid Inc. will fork out a little under $1 million to settle a class action brought by workers at a Rubbermaid distribution factory claiming their paychecks were drawn on out-of-state banks and could not be cashed in California without a fee.
The plaintiffs filed an unopposed motion seeking final approval of the class settlement on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
