NJ Ratchets Up Penalties For Medical Waste Dumping

Law360, New York (January 25, 2010, 6:36 PM EST) -- As one of the final acts of his single term in office, former New Jersey Gov. Jon S. Corzine signed a bill that doubles certain penalties related to the illegal ocean dumping of medical waste.

Corzine signed the bill Jan. 18, one day before he vacated the governorship for incoming Gov. Chris Christie. The new law takes effect immediately.
