Nationwide Class Nixed In AT&T Billing Suit

Law360, New York (January 21, 2010, 6:44 PM EST) -- The state of Washington's high court on Thursday refused to certify a nationwide class accusing AT&T Wireless Services Inc. of billing customers for charges that were not included in advertised monthly rates, suggesting a statewide class action might be more appropriate under the circumstances.

The 5-4 ruling in the Supreme Court of the State of Washington said a nationwide class would be unmanageable and unduly burdensome on the state's judicial system.
