Long-Running Allstate Billing Action Nears Finish Line

Law360, New York (January 26, 2010, 3:54 PM EST) -- A recently settled, decade-long class action against Allstate Corp. over an allegedly faulty electronic medical-bill review system is coming to an end, with the deadline for class members to participate in the settlement drawing near.

In an announcement Monday, Allstate said the settlement, approved by the Third Judicial Circuit Court in Madison County, Ill., will resolve allegations that the company used a computerized medical bill review system provided by Automatic Data Processing Inc. that incorrectly calculated medical expenses from automobile and homeowners insurance claims.
