Gym Operator Says Allianz Shirking Coverage Of COVID Loss

By Ganesh Setty (January 11, 2022, 4:31 PM EST) -- The operator of health and wellness facilities across the Northeast told a Connecticut federal court Tuesday that Allianz and one of its units breached its insurance policy by refusing to cover losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Healthtrax International Inc. and three of its subsidiaries said in a complaint that their commercial output policy with AGCS Marine Insurance Co. and Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty required the insurers to cover Healthtrax's loss of earnings, extra expenses and necessary repairs it made because of the pandemic. The policy ran from April 1, 2019, to April 1, 2020.
