PG&E Meter Readers Near Settlement In FLSA Suit

Law360, New York (January 26, 2010, 12:38 PM EST) -- The lead plaintiff in a suit accusing Pacific Gas & Electric Co. of failing to pay its meter readers overtime wages has moved for preliminary certification of a conditional settlement class, saying the parties have reached a compromise.

Lead plaintiff Manuel Murillo lodged the motion Monday in the U.S. District for the Eastern District of California, noting that under the proposed agreement, each opt-in member would receive half the maximum amount of liquidated damages available, up to $450,000.
