Pilot Union Protests Delta, US Airways Merger

Law360, New York (December 6, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The pilot union of Delta Air Lines Inc. has become the first major creditor to publicly oppose US Airways Group Inc.’s $8.5 billion takeover bid, saying the viability of the merger is in doubt.

To prove its point, the Air Line Pilots Association International (ALPA) held a highly symbolic press conference Wednesday in front of US Airways’ abandoned Crystal City headquarters in Virginia.
