Fertilizer Co. Asks To Arbitrate $17M Contract Claim

Law360, New York (January 28, 2010, 1:29 PM EST) -- A U.S.-based commercial fertilizer company has ratcheted up a contract dispute with an Egyptian business partner, asking a federal court to compel arbitration over an alleged $17 million in outstanding balances.

Little Rock, Ark.-based Oakley Fertilizer Inc. lodged a counterclaim Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, seeking a court order directing Hagrpota For Trading & Distribution Ltd. to partake in arbitration before the American Arbitration Association in New York.
