UBS Blocks Swiss Investors' $40M FINRA Claim

Law360 (January 28, 2010, 5:57 PM EST) -- UBS Securities LLC has won its bid to block a group of Swiss investors from pursuing $40 million in claims in a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority arbitration proceeding related to losses from the HealthSouth Corp. fraud.

Judge Denise Cote of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Tuesday granted the financial investment giant the declaratory judgment and permanent injunction it had sought, saying UBS had shown that the investors' claims couldn't be arbitrated in the FINRA forum.
