Green Groups Sue Over Proposed Navy Training Site

Law360, New York (January 28, 2010, 6:51 PM EST) -- Environmental groups filed suit on Thursday to challenge the U.S. Navy’s decision to build a $100 million undersea warfare training range next to a known habitat for the endangered North Atlantic right whale.

The green groups filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, claiming that the defendants violated the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, the Administrative Procedure Act and the Endangered Species Act in deciding where to build the training range without sufficient consideration of the environmental impact....
