Challenged Retirement Law Goes To European Court

Law360 (December 6, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.K. High Court referred a challenge to the "forced retirement" law in the United Kingdom, in which employers can force workers to retire at 65, to the European Court of Justice on Wednesday.

Heyday, an organization for workers near or in retirement, told the High Court judge today that the case was important because of the growing number of people that may need to work beyond 65.
